Summary of changes in documents in version 5.0.0

Table of contents

Dear User,

On October 15, 2024, an update to the Terms of Service for the animalhotels website and mobile app will take effect. This update is due to the need to adapt the documents to upcoming changes in the animalhotels website and mobile app, as well as to clarify existing provisions of the Terms of Service in line with amendments to Polish law.

Key changes

Terms of Service:

  • Changing the format of tables in Section XVIII to a bullet-point format - this change is aimed at improving readability and better adapting the content to various devices.
  • Adding information to Section VI regarding the background of caretakers - by registering, the caretaker agrees to the Terms of Service and declares that they have not been convicted of animal abuse in the past.
  • Adding information to Section VI that animalhotels reserves the right to monitor caretakers’ activities and content posted on the platform, including Offers - the purpose of this monitoring is to ensure compliance with the Terms of Service, ethical standards, and applicable laws. In the event of a violation of these conditions, animalhotels reserves the right to take appropriate actions, including temporarily or permanently blocking the caretaker's offer. In each case, the caretaker will be informed of the decision and the reasons behind it.
  • Changing the cancellation policy in Section XVI - this update allows caretakers to set their own refund policies in the event of a cancellation. Each caretaker can now individually tailor their refund conditions depending on the timing of the cancellation, with details provided in the description of each offer. We encourage you to review these new conditions to ensure clarity before making any reservations.
  • Adding a clear point regarding conducting transactions outside the platform to Section VI - it is prohibited to conduct care service transactions outside the animalhotels website and/or app. Such actions violate the principles of our community and may also lead to a lack of transaction security and protection, which is guaranteed within the platform.
  • Adding information to Section XII regarding the verification of caretaker data in connection with payments for reservations - in cases where a caretaker’s personal information requires verification, the Payment Service Provider (Stripe) may temporarily withhold payments until the verification process is complete. The caretaker will be informed about the need for verification via email sent to the address associated with their account at the Payment Service Provider.
  • Company name change to animalhotels – the name is being changed from animalhotels.com to animalhotels.
  • Editorial changes

In accordance with the Terms of Service for the website and mobile app, users have the right to terminate the agreement without incurring fees, effective from the day the user is informed about the planned changes, but no later than the day these changes take effect. If a user submits a written objection to the changes in the Terms of Service and does not terminate the agreement, the agreement will expire the day before the changes come into force, without incurring additional fees as a result.

Best regards,

The animalhotels.com team
