Dear User,
On 15th October 2024, an update to the Terms and Conditions for the animalhotels website and mobile application will come into effect. This update is necessary to align the documents with forthcoming changes to the animalhotels platform, as well as to clarify the current provisions in light of recent amendments to British law.
Key changes
Terms and Conditions:
- Modification of the format in Section XVIII from tables to bullet points – this adjustment is intended to improve clarity and ensure compatibility with various devices.
- Addition to Section VI concerning the background of caretakers – caretakers registering and agreeing to the Terms and Conditions declare that they have never been convicted of animal cruelty.
- Addition to Section VI stipulating that animalhotels reserves the right to monitor caretakers' activities and content posted on the platform, including Offers – the purpose of this monitoring is to ensure compliance with the Terms and Conditions, ethical standards, and applicable laws. In the event of any violation, animalhotels reserves the right to take appropriate measures, including temporarily or permanently blocking the caretaker’s offer. The caretaker will be informed of any such decision and the reasons behind it.
- Amendment to the cancellation policy in Section XVI – this change allows caretakers to establish their own refund policies in cases of cancellation. Each caretaker may now tailor their refund terms based on the timing of the cancellation, with the specific conditions outlined in each offer. We encourage you to review these updated policies to ensure you are fully informed before making a reservation.
- Addition of a clear provision in Section VI regarding transactions conducted outside the platform – it is strictly prohibited to carry out pet care service transactions outside of the animalhotels website and/or mobile application. Such actions violate the platform's guidelines and may result in a lack of transactional security and protection, which are otherwise provided within the platform.
- Addition to Section XII concerning the verification of caretaker details related to payments for reservations – in instances where a caretaker’s personal details require verification, the Payment Service Provider (Stripe) may temporarily withhold payments until the verification process is completed. The caretaker will be notified via email, sent to the address registered with the Payment Service Provider, regarding the need for verification.
- Change of company naming from animalhotels.com to animalhotels
- Update of Polish links to British links
In accordance with the Terms and Conditions of the website and mobile application, users have the right to terminate the agreement without incurring any fees, effective from the day they are notified of the proposed changes, but no later than the day these changes take effect. If a user submits a formal objection to the changes and does not terminate the agreement, the agreement will automatically expire the day before the changes come into force, without any additional charges being incurred.
Best regards,
The animalhotels Team
