Stripe works in accordance with the KYC (Know Your Client) procedure https://stripe.com/docs/connect/identity-verification). This is an element of banking regulation that must be followed by every financial institution and other businesses that need customer data to run their business. KYC is about collecting information that will allow you to verify the identity and assess the level of credibility of a given person. To this end, Stripe introduced the Identity system, which helps to confirm the identity of global users to prevent fraud, streamline operations related to the appearance of fraud, and increase trust and security.
Users registered before version 3.2.0.
For this purpose, Stripe may ask the User for a scan of their ID card to confirm personal data or a scan confirming their registered address. Without this, Stripe may suspend your withdrawals while they are verified.
You can verify immediately in the registration panel or later via your Stripe account. In most cases, verifications occur in real time, but Stripe reserves the right to extend this time to 3 days.
If you verify your email address, you may also receive email reminders that you have completed verification. The email template is presented below.
We'll show you where you can verify your Stripe account below.
