Is paying with Stripe safe?

Payments made by Stripe are encrypted with the SSL security protocol. You can be sure that animalhotels.com and Stripe are protected by seeing the locked padlock icon next to the page URL in your browser, or by directly checking the URL that begins with "https".

Additionally, Stripe is PCI Service Provider Level 1 certified. This is the most rigorous level of certification available in the payments industry. To obtain it, the company must use a number of modern tools.

All card numbers are encrypted at rest using AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate computers. None of Stripe's internal servers and daemons can obtain card numbers in plain text. Stripe's infrastructure for storing, decrypting and transferring card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment and does not share any credentials with Stripe's core services (API, website, etc.).

Please note that animalhotels.com and Stripe do not require passwords or PINs from you! If someone asks you to do so, notify the Police or the animalhotels.com team as soon as possible!
