How group inquiry work?

As a petsitter, you can receive two types of inquiries: group and individual.

A group inquiry is one of the most common ways to match clients with caretakers and works by sending the inquiry simultaneously to the first 10 petsitters who best meet the client’s requirements.

The group of invited petsitters includes those who:

  • live closest to the client’s location,
  • have availability in their calendar,
  • offer suitable amenities,
  • accept the given species and number of animals,
  • have the highest scoring result.

Each of the 10 selected petsitters has 5 minutes to make a decision — they can accept the care request, reject the inquiry, or defer the decision (for 1–6 hours).

Speed of response is key. The faster you respond, the higher your chances of appearing among the first five petsitters visible to the client, which significantly increases your chances of getting a booking.

By accepting the care request, you can immediately send your first message to the client. This allows you to start a conversation and agree on details before the booking is made.

By rejecting the inquiry, you free up your spot for the next petsitter in the queue. If you do not respond within the allotted time, the inquiry is automatically passed to the next person who meets the criteria, until the entire available pool of caretakers is exhausted.

Why are group inquiries beneficial?

  • They give you more opportunities to secure bookings — you receive the inquiry at the same time as other caretakers.
  • The higher your scoring result, the more often you appear among the TOP 10 petsitters contacted in a session.
  • Fast response times help you appear among the first five caretakers visible to the client, significantly increasing your chances.
  • You have real influence over the outcome — your profile, work standards, and activity all matter.

Tip:

Regularly update your calendar, maintain a high standard of communication, and respond quickly to notifications. This helps the app select you more often for group inquiries, which can significantly increase the number of bookings you receive.
