A deferred response allows you to extend the time needed to decide whether to accept a booking. You can defer your decision for 1 to 6 hours.
You may defer a decision only once per session.
After selecting this option, you are added to the petsitter queue and may appear among the caretakers visible to the client; however, until you make a final decision, you cannot start a conversation.
During the deferral period, you must make a final decision. From the client’s perspective, your offer is visible, but the client cannot message you — they can only view your profile or reject the offer if they do not want to wait for your final decision.
If the deferral period expires and you do not make a decision, the application will automatically reject your application and free up the spot for the next petsitter in the queue.
If, during the deferral period, you decide to accept the care request, you can immediately send your first message to the client. In this case, the client can also reply to you and — if everything meets their expectations — choose you as the caretaker for their pet.
