What does animalhotels.com expect from me?

The profession of a pet sitter – a sitter for domestic animals – is not only a passion but also a responsible role that requires extensive knowledge, empathy and dedication. The care guidelines are designed to help maintain the highest service standards. Among these guidelines, we highlight the following:

Top 11 Desired Behaviours of a Sitter

  1. Do not use arrogant, vulgar, or disrespectful language.
  2. Do not withhold important information.
  3. Respond promptly to all contact attempts; do not ignore calls or messages.
  4. Inform the pet owner if you intend to take in more than one pet.
  5. Do not accept a pet without disclosing the presence of your own animals.
  6. Maintain cleanliness and hygiene for both the animal's environment and the animal itself.
  7. Provide regular updates on the pet’s condition during the care period.
  8. Do not feed inappropriate food (e.g., leftovers or unsuitable human food).
  9. Adhere to safety rules when interacting with other animals and avoid contact between unneutered or unspayed animals.
  10. Adapt the environment to the pet’s needs (e.g., secure valuables, sharp objects and other hazards; ensure doors and windows are not easily accessible to the pet; inform about the presence of children).
  11. Do not accept a booking if you know you may have difficulty handling a challenging animal.

Every sitter operating through animalhotels.com is required to comply with these basic principles. In the event of a violation of the above guidelines (or those outlined in the Terms of Service and/or Privacy Policy), the sitter’s offer will be blocked.

If a sitter believes there has been an error or wishes to provide additional explanations, they are encouraged to email info@animalhotels.co.uk. However, please note that the decision to block the account may be upheld if animalhotels confirms a breach of the guidelines.
