Payments processed by Stripe are encrypted using the SSL security protocol. You can be confident that the animalhotels platform and Stripe are secure when you see a closed padlock icon next to the website's URL in your browser or by checking that the URL begins with "https".
Additionally, Stripe is certified as a PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification available in the payments industry. To achieve this, the company must implement a series of advanced tools.
All card numbers are encrypted at rest with AES-256. Decryption keys are stored on separate machines. None of Stripe's internal servers and daemons can retrieve card numbers in plaintext. Stripe’s infrastructure for storing, decrypting, and transmitting card numbers runs in a separate hosting environment and does not share any credentials with Stripe’s primary services (API, website, etc.).
Remember that animalhotels and Stripe will never ask you for passwords or PINs! If someone asks you for this information, immediately notify the Police or the animalhotels team!
